Personal Reflection
Satire is a much needed form of informing the masses of news and the mistakes that the people in politics make. It aids the common man that not everybody is perfect and many of the politicians that are put in to office or has a possibility of being in office sometimes should not be. Satire also provides humor and relief in dark times. The comedy and infromation of satire is a much needed part of society that helps keep the politicians, news anchors, and most major characters in check.
Cartoon 3
The cartoon is satirizing former President Bush's plan of cheering for the troops to provide a victory. The famous Wiley Coyote has ordered an "Acme Strategy For Victory" package while stating that "Cheerleading is not a plan". This is clearly deriding Bush's plan stating that he is doing nothing of considerable contribution. The cartoon can be read that anyone going against Bush's cheering plan hates the troops.

The cartoon puts The New Yorker next to "American Racist Monthly" and claims that the image on The New Yorker is "ironic".
Cartoon 2
This cartoon is showing an average man with an anvil reading taxpayer bailout and a man symbolizing Wall Street with a golden parachute. It is ironic because they will both fall on the ground except Wall Street has a parachute made out of gold. It represents wall street is plummeting along with the average American. In this video clip, Stephen Colbert is mocking the incident regarding the Cambridge police officer and the Head of African American Studies professor of Harvard. He compares racism to a fart in which it is almost involuntary. Colbert goes on to joke about the two of them and President Obama having a drink in the White House.
